Angela Hayes, Carmin D. Ross’ best friend, testified Friday that she smelled a horrible odor inside Thomas E. Murray’s home the night of Nov. 14, the day Ross’ body was found. Murray is on trial for the brutal slaying of his ex-wife in November 2003.
