Terry Rombeck got his first newspaper job at age 13 at his small-town paper. He's worked in the media ever since.
Now, he is features and special sections editor for the Journal-World, overseeing content in such areas as the arts, lifestyle topics, religion, garden, food and other topics and overseeing production of special sections such as KU Today and the Progress edition.
"I love getting to know the people who make Lawrence tick," Terry says. "I'm constantly amazed at the number of people here who are doing truly extraordinary things, and I love to tell their stories. Lawrence is a special place because of the people who live here and how they go about their daily lives."
Terry is a native of Belle Plaine, and he graduated of Wichita State University. He's been with the World Company since 2001, serving as a reporter on the Kansas University beat and a features reporter before assuming his current position.
Terry and his wife, Jana, were married in 2007. He enjoys a variety of sports, gardening, following the Royals, singing and playing trumpet.
