Steve is a lifelong Lawrence resident ... a product of the 1960s. He attended Broken Arrow, South Jr. High, and LHS (go Lions!), then pursued his B.A. degree at Kansas University.
Steve was a recent graduate when he inquired about a local cable TV news program that was about to launch. Thus, his career in news began.
He started out in the Production Department, where he "did it all" ... which meant operating the telepromter, the audio, the videotape, and of course, the studio camera ... sometimes simultaneously!
His interest in field news gathering landed him the position he still has today. "You can't beat this job. I have experienced so many things, and have met some incredible people. Ordinary Lawrence residents, with amazing stories to tell."
When Steve is not cruising around in the news car, he is probably swimming at the city pool, trying out his new bicycle, or just relaxing on his front porch with a good book.
