Police were called to Quizno's around 4 p.m. Sunday. According to Police, the man sat in the shop for some time before approaching a clerk at the register, asking for change. When the clerk opened the drawer, the man told her to empty the register, then life face down on the ground before he ran off.

A family of two is homeless after a fire broke out in their basement last Saturday night. Crews arrived at the two thousand block of Melholland Road around 9 p.m. Twenty minutes later the fire was under control.

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical arrived to the Quail Creek Apartments just before 4 p.m. Captain James King says the flames were confined to the wall and only smoke was visible from the outside.

Local police arrived at the one hundred block of Hillcrest Lane around 2:15 a.m. According to Baldwin City Police Chief Mike McKenna, the homeowners were hosting a small birthday party when a fight broke out between two men.

Stull UMC members sew for good cause
