Bill was born and raised in the Kansas City and Lawrence area. He moved to Lawrence when he was 13 from KCK and attended LHS and KU.
He was driving down I-5 in LA when he heard on the radio in 1985 that DJ Rick Dees just signed a 5 year, 5 million dollar contract to talk on the radio for 4 hours a day. He immediately became interested in broadcasting.
His most memorable story covered while working for 6News was in April of 93, when the great Spitfest took place. It was an attempt to help our Jayhawk men's basketball team advance to the Final Four by spitting off the Kaw River bridge with hundreds of other Jayhawk faithful. Oh the memories.
In his spare time he enjoys following all the area sports teams: Hawks, Royals and Chiefs and swinging the clubs at any area golf course.
