Going into the 2012 football season, Jayhawk fans had tempered expectations, as the team was coming off another lackluster season under former head coach Turner Gill. The announcement of Charlie Weis as the new head coach of the KU football team sent shock waves through Lawrence.
But, the beginning of his tenure on the KU sidelines has largely been a thud. The team is 1 and 2 after disappointing back-to-back losses to Rice and TCU.
With only one non-conference game remaining on the KU schedule and some of the Big 12's toughest teams on the horizons, some fans have already jumped ship.
But, others we spoke to have decided to stick it out and say Coach Weis will need more than a year to make the team respectable.
As for the fans already off the bandwagon, they've already got their eyes on a different KU team. And, if you're one of those fans already looking forward to basketball season, this year's Late Night in the Phog is scheduled for Oct. 12.
