Tornado watch issued
Lawrence - The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch effective until 9:00 p.m.
Counties included in this watch are Douglas, Franklin, Jefferson, Osage, Shawnee and Wyandotte.
6News Meteorologist Matt Elwell says specifically for Douglas County our main threat will be one inch hail or greater and damaging wind. "The window of opportunity for tornadoes will be rather limited with the sun," says Elwell. "The main storms will probably be in Southern Iowa, Eastern Nebraska and Northern Missouri."
