Shorter 4th of July show this year
Lawrence-Hundreds venture to Watson Park for music food and the big Fourth of July fireworks show every year in Lawrence but this year there will be a change. The president of the Lawrence Originals, Doug Holiday, says the community wants a shorter more exciting show. So this year the show will be 20 minutes but The Lawrence Originals along with The Lawrence Jaycees still plan on purchasing the same amount of fireworks.
“The complaints were that some of the fireworks were too low so this year they will have only fireworks with the taller capsules,” says Holiday.
The Fourth of July is on a Wednesday this year.
