Plans for new downtown parking garage are underway
New parking will come to downtown Lawrence next year.
An 18 million dollar expansion to Lawrence Public Library makes way for a parking garage on 700 Vermont street.
The city is asking downtown business owners if they want an additional level of parking, at their expense.
Businesses pay according to the size of their property.
The next meeting is Thursday, September 20th.
City commission is expected to consider a resolution for the project at their next meeting.
