Lawrence Originals celebrate 4th of July with food fest
Who says you can only eat barbecue on the Fourth of July?
On Wednesday the Lawrence Originals held the fourth annual Party in the Park, serving food from around the globe to celebrate the country’s birthday.
The annual celebration in Watson Park brings together more than 20 local restaurants. On the menu were items from India, Italy, and, of course, American barbecue. Thousands of Lawrence residents flocked to downtown Lawrence despite the triple digit temperatures. Residents say with the recent heat streak, it was a lot nicer to have someone else standing over a hot grill serving up delicious food.
