Lawrence day care receives Emergency Order of Suspension by KDHE
A Lawrence day care has received an Emergency Order of Suspension by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Children's Playpen is operated by Tiffany Hubbard at 766 Lake Street in Lawrence.
By state law, the Secretary of KDHE has the authority to enforce such orders to protect children when health or safety may be a concern.
Lawrence Police officials say a search warrant was served on Wednesday at the residence.
Drugs and drug paraphernalia were recovered during the search.
One person was arrested during the search on an unrelated, out of county warrant.
Neighbors say they were not surprised that there was a drug bust, however, they say they were surprised that the residence housed a day care.
