Fourth of July party to feature air-conditioned bathrooms

LAWRENCE - Hot and smelly portable bathrooms are never fun, but this year's organizers for "Party in the Park" have gone to the next level to ensure residents can relieve themselves in sanity style.

The event will feature a mammoth bathroom fully-equipped for both men and women. It includes urinals, stalls, sinks, and air conditioning. Organizers joke that the bathrooms could steal the show and keep a steady stream of customers downtown.

Renting the unit costs about $3,600, but organizers say it's well worth the investment if it makes the party in Watson Park one to remember.
