Douglas County lifts burn ban
Today, Douglas County lifted its burn ban almost a week early.
Max Burton and his companion stopped to camp in Lawrence on their drive across the Midwest. But, when they first arrived at Clinton State Park, warning signs greeted them.
Burn bans come at the advisory of the Lawrence Fire Department, the Douglas County Commission voted to extend the ban every 1 to 2 weeks since late July. The next vote date was scheduled for Wednesday, September 19th.
