Charlie and Maura Weis hold BBQ fundraiser for daughter's charity
Just 48 hours before he begins his tenure on the sidelines, KU head football coach Charlie Weis put football aside Thursday to host a charity event to raise money for kids and families dealing with disabilities.
With his wife Maura by his side, Weis held a barbecue fundraises to raise money for Hannah and Friends, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and adults with different, what they call, abilities.
Weis says the charity won't stop with a barbecue fundraiser. He hopes to host his annual charity golf tournament later this year.
