James Holmes, the man suspected of killing 12 people and wounding 58 others inside a Colorado movie theater applied to graduate school at the University of Kansas. A university spokesperson said although the alleged gunman applied to KU, he withdrew his application before the interviewing process. 6News obtained Holmes' University of Iowa application to the Neuroscience Graduate Program as well as emails sent between admissions committee members. One professor who interviewed Holmes told colleagues, "Do NOT offer admission under any circumstances." The University of Kansas has yet to release the suspected shooter's application for admission.
