Bivins_Scott_J._2-82.JPGScott Bivins, Edgerton, heard the evidence against him in a Douglas County courtroom Thursday afternoon. He’s accused of raping a 5-year-old girl and molesting a 6-year-old girl. The mother of one of the alleged victims was the first witness to take the stand.  She told the court in November 2010, she looked out her window to witness Bivins molest her daughter. “I know what I saw,” she said. “I saw her touching him on his crotch.”

Other witnesses included the a Douglas County Sheriff’s detective who interviewed one of the alleged victims. She told the court that both girls identified Bivins as their abusers. A sheriff’s deputy also testified. She said she interviewed Bivins at the law enforcement center in December. She told the court that Bivins confessed to molesting the girls, but repeatedly denied raping them.

No word on when the preliminary hearing will wrap up. If convicted, Bivins could spend the rest of his life in prison.
