6News partner Operation 100 News reports that Lawrence police are investigating a shooting that took place downtown early Saturday morning.
Police were called to a reported disturbance outside of Brother's Bar & Grill, 1105 Massachusetts Street, around 1:45 a.m. Officers located a man with a single gunshot wound to the leg in the parking lot of the Lawrence Community Building, 115 W. 11th Street, just behind Brother's Bar & Grill.
Police said the victim's injuries are non-life threatening.
Following the shooting, police detained three people as possible suspects. They were reportedly in a car that was followed from the scene by an off-duty officer. The vehicle was stopped by police in the area of east 13th Street and Haskell Avenue.
Reportedly, there were several witnesses to the shooting and police are interviewing people that may have information about the incident. At least one vehicle was also damaged by gunfire.
Just before 6:00 a.m. 21-year-old Marck Fristoe, Kansas City, was booked into the Douglas County Jail for intent for second-degree murder, criminal discharge of a firearm, criminal threat, and criminal damage to property.
