Baldwin City police arrest woman on drug charges

Friday, April 25, 2008

Baldwin City police arrested a 21-year-old woman this morning on numerous drug charges, including possession and sale of hallucinogenics and depressants.

“Those are the charges we have now,” said Sgt. Greg Schiffelbein. “There could be more later.”

Schiffelbein said the arrest was the result of an investigation into activities at the home in the 200 block of Baker Street, but declined to provide any more details. The Baldwin City woman was taken to Douglas County Jail.

Two other people were at home at the time of the 9 a.m. raid. A 2-year-old girl was taken into protective custody, the sergeant said. A male, whose age was not released, was not arrested.

Police are continuing to follow up leads in the case.

“We’re still doing more investigation and there could be more (charges) later on,” said Schiffelbein.
