Quick, break out the crimson and blue hip waders.
People planning to dance in Massachusetts Street as part of tonight’s National Championship festivities definitely will want to bring a full supply of heavy rain gear, 6News Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Schack said this afternoon.
“After midnight, we’re expecting heavy rain,” Schack said. “We could receive an inch or more.”
Schack said she couldn’t rule out some of the weather being severe, but that the more likely scenario was a simple drenching.
“We’re talking about a heavy, soaking rain,” Schack said.
Prior to midnight, the area is expected to experience off and on again showers, she said.
Potential partygoers on Mass. Street this afternoon seemed undeterred.
“That’s all right,” said Lindsay Nonken, a KU sophomore. “Bring on the rain. Rain brings good luck.”
