Eastbound turnpike lanes to be bottlenecked

Officials say road will be reduced to one lane

Eastbound lanes of the Kansas Turnpike between Lawrence and Topeka will be reduced to one lane overnight and into Friday morning, officials said today.

The state sent out the following press release:

"The Kansas Turnpike roadway between milepost 189.5 and 184 eastbound will be reduced to one lane of traffic between Lawrence and Topeka after late evening rush hour traffic on Thursday, April 26. The eastbound roadway in this five-mile area will remain reduced until Friday, April 27 at approximately 11 a.m. Drivers are asked to use extra caution while traveling in this area for the safety of drivers and construction crews."
