Woman dies from injuries sustained during standoff

A Lawrence woman who held police at bay during a 4-1/2 hour standoff dies from her injuries. Lawrence police confirm today that one of their own shot and killed 36-year-old Marsha Mace after the suicidal woman fired a gun at officers Sundar afternoon at a norhtern Lawrence mobile home park. And while Lawrence Police Chief Ron Olin is justifying his officer's actions, some question whether the whole incident could have been avoided.
