Kansas weather took a turn for the cold today as Lawrence saw its first winter weather of the season. Along with snow flurries and freezing wind, this weather front has left many area roads very icy and dangerous. Conditions are expected to only get colder in the next few days. City officials recommend only traveling if absolutely necessary.
