Score one for the lead-footed motorist. The speed limit could be on the way up for a one-mile stretch of road on the west edge of Lawrence. The Kansas Department of Transportation has given city leaders permissio to raise the speed limit on west 6th Street from Wakarusa Drive to the K-10 bypass.
