Group organizing trip to aid New Orleans hurricane victims

Thursday, January 5, 2006

The LEO Center is organizing another trip to the Katrina-stricken New Orleans area for Jan. 21-28.

The group sent volunteers from several area churches in October and December to help clean up and restore the Gulf Coast region after hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The Christian ministry group will host an informational meeting about the trip at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at 1 Riverfront Plaza, Suite 100.

“Although the situation in the New Orleans area is no longer front-page news, the devastation is great and the need is ongoing,” said Byron Edmondson, Needs Ministry director.
