Grab a coat or a jacket on your way out — temperatures will be cool this morning, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.
"It's a chilly start with temperatures in the 40s and windchills in the 30s," Schack said.
However, the clouds thin out this afternoon, bringing back some sunshine as temperatures climb to a high of 61 degrees, she said. Winds will be from the north at 5 to 12 mph, she said.
The average high temperature for this date is 71 degrees. The record high was 94 degrees, set in 1989.
At 7:20 a.m., Lawrence's temperature was 43 degrees, the humidity was 87 percent and winds were from the northwest at 7 mph, making the windchill 39 degrees.
The average low temperature for this date is 49 degrees. The record low was 33 degrees, set in 1910.
The cool trend will continue overnight, as the temperature drops to 39 degrees by early Thursday morning, Schack said.
Thursday's high temperature will climb to 73 degrees, with southwesterly winds at 5 to 10 mph.
"We'll have plenty of sunshine tomorrow," Schack said.
Friday's morning low temperature will be 49 degrees, with Friday's afternoon high climbing to 74 degrees, she said.
There's a chance for thunderstorms Friday evening into early Saturday morning, she said.
