Seven people, including some children, were injured when a van collided with a car shortly before 5 p.m. today on U.S. 59 highway south of Lawrence.
One of the children involved in the accident was taken by helicopter ambulance to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
The names of those involved in the accident have not yet been released.
Authorities were called about 4:52 p.m. today about the accident. Two helicopter ambulances were dispatched to the location, which was south of Lawrence on 59 near the top of Pleasant Grove hill.
