City officials consider loosening regulations on outdoor dining

20 downtown businesses currently have outdoor dining areas, and two more have plans in the pipeline. The commission in charge of overseeing sidewalk licenses believe it may be time to develop some guidelines. There are some concerns about adding the sidewalk tables, which is seen as a way to allow customers to smoke while dining.
