The creations of Topeka artist William Wesley Marshall will be on display during an impromptu show that opens tonight and runs for a week at the Olive Gallery. The artist was influenced by M.C. Escher, who inspired him to create three-dimensional, iridescent guided images. An opening reception for "A Guided Imagery Tour" starts at 6 p.m. today.

The Kansas University Symphony Orchestra continues its 100th anniversary celebration with a concert featuring student winners of the first-ever concerto/aria competition. The program, under the direction of assistant conductor Steven McDonald and graduate conducting student Andres Franco, begins 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lied Center.

And spring is coming early by way of the Lawrence Community Theatre, where "Enchanted April" hits the stage on Thursday. The play, which begins in London before moving to the Italian countryside, follows two British housewives who spend a month rediscovering laughter and love. The show will run for two weekends.
