Temperatures will climb up to about 50 today, bringing another relatively warm but gray day to Lawrence.
Lawrence started out with dense fog this morning, which was beginning to lift in the late morning. Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist, said clouds will move in this afternoon, with skies partly cloudy to mostly cloudy through the day. Winds will be from the southeast about 3 to 8 mph.
Douglas County was among several northeastern Kansas counties placed in a dense fog advisory through 11 a.m. today, with the fog causing visibility problems for drivers.
At 11:40 a.m., there was still fog and mist at Lawrence Municipal Airport. The temperature was 36 degrees, with winds from the southeast at 9 mph, creating a windchill of 29 degrees.
Skies will continue to be cloudy tonight, with the overnight temperature dropping to 34 degrees by early Friday morning. Friday's high will be 44 degrees, with overcast skies.
Saturday's morning low will be 26 degrees, with Saturday's afternoon high climbing to 50 degrees. Skies will be partly cloudy.
