Cool and blustery day ahead

Wednesday, December 28, 2005

Say goodbye to the spring-like weather we had Monday and Tuesday — a cool, blustery day is in store today for Lawrence, says Tim Reith, 6News meteorologist.

"It's not going to be much warmer than we currently are right now," Reith said about 8:26 a.m., when the temperature was 41 degrees and a northwesterly 17-mph wind was making the windchill 32 degrees.

Reith said the high temperature today will be 46 degrees with northwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, gusting to 20 mph. Skies will be cloudy.

"We're not expecting any rainfall today," he said.

Overnight, the temperature will fall to 27 degrees, he said. Thursday's high temperature will climb back into the 50s, reaching a high of 53 degrees, with partly cloudy skies, he said.

Friday's morning low will be 34 degrees, with the high climbing to 44 degrees. A quick-moving Pacific storm system moves in Friday, bringing cloudy skies and a chance for rain, he said.
