Students have been allowed back inside Perry-Lecompton High School after a fire forced them to evacuate earlier this morning.
No one was injured in the fire, which began when insulation caught on fire while building workers were working on some pipes, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was reported shortly before 9 a.m. and students were being allowed back in the school as of 10 a.m. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Management, and the Ozawkie, Kaw, Kentucky, Fairview and rural township fire departments responded to the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
