Art a la Carte

Friday, October 29, 2004

This evening the Lawrence Community Theatre will serve a spooky appetizer to tide you over until Halloween. “Murder at Cafe Noir,” a dinner theater murder mystery will be staged at Maceli's, 1031 N.H. A buffet-style dinner will accompany the 1940’s detective story. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Only a few tickets remain for a Saturday evening performance to Fosse at the Lied Center. The touring musical is a tribute to legendary choreographer Bob Fosse who created Broadway hits like Chicago. Fosse’s signature sexy style with its hip swivels and shoulder rolls will be brought to the stage by 24 dancers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

And the Seem-To-Be Players are cooking up some pre-trick-or-treat entertainment for Sunday. A Halloween concert and costume contest gets underway at 4 p.m. The Players will sing songs and make up stories about visitors costumes and awards will be given for the silliest, cutest, scariest, most original and best overall getups.
