Lawrence's own E.M.U. Theatre tonight premieres "V Henry K," a show by local playwright Dan Born. The drama explores the fallout that arises when a small-town district attorney indicts a legendary statesman for orchestrating her father's murder. The show is being staged at K-U's Hashinger Hall through Sunday.
At the Lawrence Arts Center this evening, the Lawrence Art Guild will have a reception for its All Members Show, which is currently on view in the arts center gallery. Artists will be on hand and refreshments will be served at the gathering, which starts at 7 p.m.
Want to learn more about "The Wizard of Oz"? Oz scholar Michael Patrick Hearn will talk about the book's global reach during a 7 p.m. talk tonight at the Lawrence Public Library. The lecture is one of the final Read Across Lawrence events.
