Marian Washington announced her retirement from the head coaching job Friday night. In her more than 30 years as the Jayhawks' women's basketball coach, she garnered many accolades. Even though the past four years have been a struggle, Washington will be inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame in June. KU Athletic Director Lew Perkins says that Washington will have a place in the athletics department as long as she wants one.

The job market seems to be improving. Based on job seekers at today's KU Career Fair, though about 35 fewer companies participated in this event, students attending the fair say companies are looking to add more new employees than last year.
