Even though the parents of Carmin Ross say they suspect her ex-husband killed her, a judge here decided today found in favor of Ross' ex- husband concerning her financial estate.
In November 2003, Ross was found murdered inside her home northwest of Lawrence, a crime that is still under investigation by the Douglas County sheriff's office.
In a hearing today, a Riley County district judge allowed Ross's ex-husband, Thomas E. Murray, a Kansas State University English professor, to choose the company that will oversee the $300,000 that Ross left to the couple's 5-year-old daughter.
However, it became clear in court today that Ross' parents suspect Murray killed their daughter -- and that's why they were asking the judge for control of the finances.
