Short film festival winners announced

The winners have been selected for the Lawrence Arts Center's Short Film Festival. This was the third year for the annual festival, which was held on Saturday, May 8th.

This year the festival included a $350 grand prize, tickets to the Granada, gift certificates to Bigg's Barbecue, Chipotle and Family Video.

Here are the winners:

  • Grand Prize: Time’s Up Eve, Patrick Rea and Jon Niccum
  • Audience Award: Nanny Goat, Kai Winikka and Erin Darley
  • Best Youth Film: Tracks, Megan Fleming
  • Best Documentary: Kansas Debate, Jason Badgett and Patrick Monroe
  • Best Cinematography & Editing: 30 Seconds to Midnight, Jeremy Osbern and Steve Deaver
  • Best Drama: A.S.A.P., Zoey Hearn
  • Best Comedy: Dishes and Wishes, Derek Sellens
  • Best Experimental: Burial, Scott Pewenofkit
  • Best Horror: Nanny Goat, Kai Winikka and Erin Darley
  • Best Actor: Davis De Rock
  • Producer’s Choice Award: The Night Before, Thad Nurski
