I’ve been fortunate to live in several beautiful places during the past few years – from the Midwest in Illinois, to the South in Arkansas and to the Plains here in Kansas. I’m excited to land back in Lawrence, though, as the newest member of the team. I started as a reporter and producer for 6News in September 2010.
I previously interned as a reporter at 6News during Fall 2009, so it’s great to be back in this newsroom and community!
I’m even more excited to escape the frigid winters of Chicago, having graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in June 2010. During my time at Northwestern, I had the privilege of interning at KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas, and the CBS News network bureau in Chicago.
I think my love of storytelling came at an early age, as I was surrounded by the best, funniest storytellers – my family. If I can emulate their ability to share a joke or an experience, then I’m doing something right.
I grew up in Newport, Arkansas, so I’m glad to be a little closer to home. I apologize for the occasional “y’all” that slips out from time to time. I can’t help it. On my free days, I like to spend time reading, catching up on my DVR, watching new movies and learning how to cook.
